Merran Cunningham

Provisional Psychologist

MerranMerran is a provisional psychologist in the midst of her 2 years of supervised psychological practice at Life Care Inner West. Merran is receiving clinical supervision by Psychologists Van Tester and Enza Querin.

Merran completed her Bachelor of Psychological Science (Honours) in 2020 and has been working in Administration at Life Care Inner West since then. In addition, Merran has also been working as a Behavioural Therapist with children who have Autism, and as a counsellor for cancer patients and their families.

As part of her supervised practice, Merran will be in a position to offer psychological support services to children, adolescents, and adults presenting with a range of issues including depression, mood disorders, anxiety, Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and autism. She will also see clients who present with issues such as addiction, grief and loss, and self-confidence. Merran will deliver an integrative and collaborative approach to therapy and she will be equipped to draw upon evidence-based strategies such as Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT). Merran has recently participated in accredited Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) training and as such, she will be able to offer EMDR to her clients.

Merran will be co-facilitating the Cool Kids Anxiety Management Group group with Psychologist Enza Querin in the coming months.
